Our Team

Dr Brian Johnston

Dr Brian Johnston’s passion for Implant Dentistry led to the development of the Ballarat Implant Centre. His team is specifically focussed on providing you with total implant solutions within the city of Ballarat and surrounding district.

Ballarat Implant Centre is also proud to be one of the very few practices in the area to offer sedation for this type of surgery.

Over the years Dr Johnston has undertaken extensive additional training in Implant Dentistry, including a year’s study under Prof Dan Brener* at the Brener Implant Institute in Sydney.

On graduating from this course, Dr Johnston was invited back as a faculty member, and currently assists at teaching and supervising surgery performed by students at the institute.

More recently Dr Johnston attended the Malo Clinic in Lisbon Portugal where he received training from Dr Paulo Malo who is a world renowned implant surgeon and inventor of the “all on 4” protocol.

Prof Brener is a registered prosthodontist (specialised in the replacement of missing teeth) and Clinical Associate in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney. Prof Brener himself was trained by one of the world’s greatest implantologists, the American Dr Carl Misch, who has lectured in evidence-based surgical aspects of Implant Dentistry since 1984.

Tania Haddon

Tania-Haddon1Tania heads up our preventative maintenance program.  Tania gained her Bachelor in Oral Health from Queensland’s Griffith University, and her qualification has a dual focus.  Firstly, as a Dental Hygienist her role has given her the ability to provide education and preventive therapies to improve and maintain excellent oral health for patients.  Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy mouth, contributing to getting the most out of one’s overall health and wellbeing. Secondly as a Dental Therapist—and a part that she absolutely loves—her degree has qualified her in treating children to build excellent oral health foundations to continue throughout their life.

Tania grew up in Ballarat, where her career in dentistry began.  She spent many years building on her knowledge, skills and experience as a dental assistant in many areas of dentistry both in Australia and overseas before leading her to study Oral Health Therapy.  Tania strives for ongoing learning, attending many continuing education courses and programs.

Tania looks forward to seeing you for a preventive maintenance appointment, and if you have any questions about your oral health, she is happy to help.
